Brand Angler

Brand Anglers – Join the Team
Brand Anglers are our version of sponsored anglers and form the core of the Blako team. They fish with our gear regularly, put it to the test in real conditions, and provide honest feedback to help refine and improve our designs. They also collaborate with us on new ideas, colour patterns, and product concepts, while receiving our support for their fishing adventures and competitions.

If you’re passionate about fishing and want to be part of shaping the gear we make, apply below  and be sure to check the FAQs beneath the application form for more details.

BA Questions

What is a Brand Angler?

A Brand Angler is part of Blako’s core team of anglers who use, test, and help develop our products. They’re closely involved in refining designs, trying new ideas, and giving real-world feedback from the water.

What does a Brand Angler do?

Brand Anglers fish regularly with Blako gear, provide honest feedback, share catch reports, create content, and contribute ideas for new products, colours, and features. Brand Anglers get to test all the new gear well before it comes to market.

Do Brand Anglers need to compete in tournaments?

No, tournaments are not required. We value anglers of all styles, from weekend fishers to competitive pros.

Do I need a big social media following to be a Brand Angler?

Not necessarily. We’re more interested in authenticity, fishing knowledge, and willingness to contribute than follower numbers.

What skills or experience are required?

A strong fishing background, the ability to give clear feedback, and a passion for helping improve products for Australian anglers.

How often do Brand Anglers need to provide feedback or content?

Regular updates are expected, this could be weekly to monthly feedback, catch photos, or short videos when using Blako gear.

Are Brand Anglers exclusive to Blako?

We prefer our Brand Anglers to primarily represent Blako, but we understand you may work with other brands in non-competing categories and that's ok.

Is there a minimum time commitment?

We aim for long-term partnerships, but there’s no strict contract length. We want people committed to growing with the brand.

How are Brand Anglers selected?

We look for skill, authenticity, good communication, and a genuine passion for fishing, not just popularity. We look for location or specialists in a certain target species or techniques.

Can I apply if I’m not in Australia?

At the moment, we focus on Australian anglers, but we may expand internationally in the future.

Do you take on Brand Anglers year-round or only at certain times?

We consider new Brand Anglers year-round, but spots are limited to ensure each member gets proper support.

What happens once I apply?

Once we receive your application, we’ll review your fishing background, experience, and fit with the Blako brand. If you’re shortlisted, we’ll get in touch to discuss the program in more detail and outline expectations. Successful applicants will be welcomed into the team, receive their starter gear, and begin testing and providing feedback.
